16 goals, 12 players, 2 winners

Munich is very much a fertile land when it comes to football. Even more so for FDs. After the long list of evergreen champions like Hannes, Johannes, Thomas, Tom, Philipp, Julian etc today we had the addition of Michael-Jan, the new Dad-Kid double act joining the German contingent (top photo)
The pair took possession of the Colours’ left wing imposing its law and exacting tributes at will from opposition with Jan scoring a few, often fed by his Dad from defence.
After the beating by Man City anything labelled Munich had something to prove and today the German lot gave absolutely everything to prove the spell is not broken. Under such influence the Colours looked dominant right from the start. They could also count on one man up and the unfit state of opponent Nizard which tried to contribute from the Bibbed goal.
Early on Johaness, in front of his granitic defenders, picked up the key of midfield controlling the game. When in the Bibbed half he had many options: either go vertically straight to goal dribbling whoever had the misfortune to be in front of him, pass it onto his right to the forthcoming Al or on his left to Jan: the two young arrows would then have a free ride towards goal.
All the three strikers found the net with ease while frustratingly the Bibbed could not get anywhere near it. At one point Giancarlo decided to go solo from the corner flag: the ball went over Paride curling in to hit the far post only to bounce out. Even the Colours fans’ regretted they could not witness a sensational goal but the relaxed in the knowledge that the boots of this over 60 do not produce only one offs…
At 4-0 for the Colours a rebalancing act was badly needed: Nizard had to quit the game due to his injury and the Bibbed spared no money to bring on their side the most prolific Brazilian striker ever: no prize for guessing this chap is of course Victor, nomen omen. The Brazilian Real appreciated on the news, to the point that the Minister of finance had to intervene not to penalise Brazilian export. With him the remuntada started taking shape and victory a distinct possibility.
The Bibbed looked more balanced with Hossam directing defence, Bijen and Julien ready to counter and Adam sprinting and dribbling everywhere with opposition unable to stop him. It was a new game and Paride was challenged from every corner. Victor and Adam scored a hat trick each, filling most of the gap but the Colours with tenacity and sheer will managed to end normal time with one goal ahead.
It would have been massively unfair to end the game like this for the Bibbed whose epic remuntada deserved better: the golden goal was requested by both adrenaline-addicted set of fans and they would just not leave the stands without it. The Bibbed would not miss the opportunity for the life of them and managed to score it and fix the final result at 8-8. Everyone felt a winner both on and off the pitch and rightly so.
It was a feast and a fight in equal measure with every single player feeling that against any other team they would have won with only one leg, if any. These are exactly the make or break games our Kids need to go through the exams of the FDs University. Life doesn’t get any harder than that!
Each of the top five serial scorers, Victor and Adam for the Bibbed, Johannes, Al and Jan for the Colours received a generous allocation of votes for the Man of the Match accolade but the rookie young Jan combined to impress them with his goals and skills as well as ability to pass the ball to the best placed mate, a very mature feature for such a young talent.
