A brand new Year + Ibra’s true love

You could tell from the very first touch that every single player would have given all of his disposable income and any hidden asset to be the very first scorer of 2020.
Yasin and Paul went agonisingly close on the opposite fronts but it was Jamal at the second time of asking who reached the milestone by beating Giancarlo exactly the same way that il Papu Gomez beat Donnarumma in the recent 5-0 trashing of AC Milan by Atalanta. The silver lining of such an infamous defeat is that it triggered for the Rossoneri the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic as we’ll discuss later.
One goal down the Bibbed had soon to play one man down too as Thomas was struck by a recurring hamstring injury. By simply taking a look at the quality of the remaining players Bibbed fans were far from despairing that it would have been a one direction match. In fact it turned out to be a hell of a rollercoaster with only the finest of margin dividing the two factions. Yasin was seen scoring and missing at one end and saving a goal on the line at the other on the Unbibbed counter. In truth the whole African Bibbed block played as one man alternating solo displays to coral team one-touch moves as if in the festivities they did nothing else but practising the Club text book calling each scheme by the number of the page to confound opponents.
The Unbibbed were not amused though and they made it clear they were not there to applaude their enemies: it was Paul to spell it out loudly and clearly by striking like a gun machine with Federico also adding a pearl of a goal with a thundering shot from the long distance. But the goal thus far of 2020 goes unanimously to Tarek who dared and meant a lob shot from his own half that a keeper like Paride could only see inflating the net right under the bar. The commentator took time to look at similar own-half shots from Adam, Alonso, Beckham and Rooney but still quite clearly no one comes quite close to this.
The two teams could have played for days without any being able to claim victory over the other so it looked only sensible to call the golden goal in to break the tie. The Bibbed proved it meant everything to them and collected every energy left to seal the game with a goal from Mohammad who also excelled throughout the game. The Unbibbed were dejected to concede the first game of the year while the Bibbed saluted the first victory of 2020 with their fans who were well rewarded for cutting their holidays short to witness another glorious show for which there is not substitute. No doubt the Royals obliged too.
As for the first Man of the Match in 2020 Yassin is a default choice while sniper Paul was also a natural selection but the votes pouring in put Tarek in the top spot and not only for his wonder goal as he linked defence with attack with savvy passing and also decided when to finalise himself and only with classy goals. What a start to the year!
The few Milanisti among FDs and FKs had reason to look at a better year ahead after it was announced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic rejoined AC Milan after leading them to the last Scudetto in 2011. It was however Ibra’s second best choice as he knew full well that at 38 he lacked the experience and the gravitas of a FD to make the cut at our Club.
Besides, despite playing for many top clubs, Zlatan never made it to a Champions League final or indeed a World Cup one and to throw him into a Master Game without such an adrenaline-proof test is simply a risk the Club cannot take. Finally as a Swedish player Ibra knows that such place in the hearts and minds of FDs fans is already taken by no less than the ‘White Pele’’, our very Mattias and to displace him it would be too much of a psychological hurdle to overcome even for a challenge-prone champion like Zlatan.
Ibra is a clever guy and he knows it all full well. As he doesn’t take no for an answer he forbid his agent Mino Raiola to contact our Club hoping that in the next decade he can prove himself: at which point some of the leading FDs, in their late sixties, might concede the last few minutes of the game and give him a deserved chance to shine on a proper stage.
Today among the many fans we spotted one of the early Father, Alessandro (see picture below) who lives in Hong Kong and is the Club ambassador for Asia.
Finally as our show demands more and more infrastructure it is vital for the Club to rely on modern Sherpa (see picture on top). As Sir Edmund Hillary would have never made it to the Everest without Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, equally FDs require these figures to stage and accomplish their few more missions impossible.
