A worthy conclusion to a great footballing year

Encouraged by solidarity messages from all over the world, seven unstoppable protagonists assembled on the Palace Pitch.
The Galals were present with three, the Wittigs with two, family members. This group was rounded up by the super-reliable Chetan and Thomas.
It was decided to break up the families, and a bibbed team was formed around Johannes, fortified by Sarah, Chetan and Thomas. They were going to be challenged by an unusual trio of Hossam, Adam, and Hannes.
The game was quick, with and without ball, providing a great watch for the countless spectators. The bibbed team smartly exploited their numerical advantage (while facing the adversity of playing uphill), with a rapid passing game, always finding a free player, and constantly creating danger.
The opposing trio displayed some nice moves, embellished by Adam’s trickery and Hossam’s back heel. After a beautiful curling cross from Adam, Hannes failed to score the volleyed goal of his life, hitting only the outside of the post.
Not converting enough of their chances, the battling trio often found themselves instead victimized by ruthless counterattacking football.
The score was more decisive than the match felt most of the times, especially to the losing side 😉
Due to insufficient record-keeping, it is not entirely clear if the match ended 9:4 or 10:3 for the bibbed. It is also unclear who scored which goals, but it is fair to say that all players bagged at least one.
We’re now looking forward to another great year of FD football, including the Jubilee celebrations. The Dads’ New Year wish is undoubtedly to stem the tide and reclaim the title in the 2024 MG!
