Bibs trash opponents with tennis-like score despite being one-man down

The country might soon run out of fuel but Football Dads never run out of energy and stamina.
You could clearly see that before today’s match, when four Dads warmed up doing push-up on one hand, while smiling at the adoring fans (see top photo). The four horsemen of the apocalypse (Hossam, Hannes, Yassin and TonyL) ended up being the backbone of a winning Bibs team, who also included stars such as Julien, Johannes, Andre, Jeremy, Khaled and late arrival Chetan.
Playing with razor-like precision and a grit rarely seen on the pitch, they took control of the game despite being one man down for the entire match.
The opponent Unbibbed team had been assembled again around an italian core (an idea that week after week seems to be not as good as it sounds on paper). Alessandro, Giancarlo, Francesco, Federico, Paride, Branko and Victor were supposed to bring experience and wisdom, but could do so very rarely. Youngsters Leo, Marco, Diego e Giacomo had plenty of courage and power, still their attacking attempts were well contained by the Bibs. With the Italians was also rookie Lupo, a former player in the academy of Sampdoria (the team where Vialli and Mancini built their career). He made a great impression, solid and focused around defense and midfield, but he was clearly overwhelmed by the quality of his opponents and the pace of the game.
Down 4-0, with Branko injured, the Unbibs were given the opportunity to play with two extra-player instead of one, and they were even offered Yassin on a free-transfer. To quote the Godfather, this looked like an offer that couldn’t be refused. After few minutes of discussion, however, the offer was respectfully declined. The Unbibs could lose the match, but not their honour. And that’s when they played their best football, with Giacomo scoring twice with headers on corner.
The Unbibs gave it all in their final effort, under a pouring rain, with tension between teammates reaching level rarely seen, only to see the Bibs score again sealing their victory with a tennis-like 6-2.
As Johannes bagged a well-deserved Man of the Match award, having scored four goals and played magnificently in midfield, the Club issued a statement saying that team allocation starting from next week will not be based on nationality anymore. “Better to spread Italians randomly in the two teams” said the official note.
