Bring the goals back!

Voters were heavily tempted to cast their Man of the Match preference to the proper goals which were back in business after a long absence due to a combination of reduced number of players and laziness by the porters after years of bending their back for a superior cause.
One instance highlighted that the good old goals should never be absent again: Giancarlo received a nice ball from Johannes on the right corner of the Orange box. Without thinking twice he hit it with the outside of the right foot on a guided curling in trajectory to the top left caressing both posts before ending his run in the net.
Bizarrely the ball came out from the net itself as there was a hole in it. Credit to the Orange team, there was no need to resort to VAR to confirm as everyone on the pitch agreed that a goal of such beauty should never ever be disallowed. Had someone dared to do so a trial for crime against humanity, deprived of such beauty, would have followed suit.
Imagine someone threw in the bin ‘La Gioconda’ by Leonardo (not the Brazilian player…) just because it didn’t fit the frame! Anyway French would have certainly found it and brought to Paris…Beauty will save the world and Football Dads have produced enough already for Mars too! And without the goals the validity of such goal would have been debated endlessly with the risk of riots extending well beyond the pitch and the stands as beauty knows no boundaries.
As for the game the 5 a side always demands total commitment from any player. Talent itself is good for nothing if not supported by perennial running and an instinct for geometry which in turn allows energies to be saved to be
fresh in front of goal. The Colours proved to have all that in spades and thrived with and without the ball with Francesco being the terminal of fast and accurate moves, scoring an hat trick with one goal reminiscent of that of Pedri against Galatasaray.
The Orange would not go down without a fight and responded with a brace by Victor showing again his true Brazilian colours but opposition were resilient in the defence making the most from the return of Alessandro
who saved shots with any limb in his body and kept opponents at a safe distance. Johannes, Mohammad and Giancarlo held the keys in midfield, not a given considering the presence of ever mobile Adam, tough Julien and the experienced advances of Massimo and Hossam.
The Colours played a total football as they were seen scoring at one end and saving a goal on the line on the other soon after. Giancarlo was seen running even when the ball was outside the pitch. He justified it as a training for the next half marathon but Orange would have none of it and put his name on top of the anti-doping test.
We lamented many times the absence of professional goalkeepers and today Alessandro was there to prove exactly what we meant producing great saves and allowing defence to venture forward while having the back covered. That made all the difference and voters acknowledged that by handing him the Man of the Match award.
It will be difficult for Paride and Tony L to regain their spot if (big IF) and when they come back… Buffon at 45 is a big temptation for the CLUB but he might lack maturity at this stage.
