Colours trashed Orange 9-2 but on an own-goals adjusted basis it was a thrilling 6-5

Again today there were 16 kids out of 23 players. Are Dads becoming an endangered species? Should they be protected from extinction to ensure many more games like this?
Specific rules could be introduced like: whoever from opposition touches them gets a straight yellow card and a foul against. Every Dad above 60 gets a penalty bonus to be called by him at any point during the game. If the Dad is above 63 he can demand the keeper to be 2 meters away from goal. Whenever it rains Dads should start 2-0 up.
A panel of geriatric experts will meet during the week to kick off the debate and perhaps, depending on the outcome, apply the resulting measures already in the MG11 next Sunday June 15th. No doubt Unesco would only be keen to fund the proceeds.
Carlo Ancelotti, now the new coach of Brazil, is not a man who should have many regrets when it comes to football. Yet in the press conference after recent game with Ecuador 🇪🇨 where Brazil 🇧🇷 fired blank he was incessantly asked why he didn’t recruit our star Victor for the game, surely a mistake he would regret forever.
Don Carlo, calmly yet assertively, told the audience that he didn’t even think about doing that as he knows full well that our CLUB would never ever release any player ahead of the Master Game, let alone Victor who, as to prove such theory, opened the score today few minutes into the game with an explosive right footed diagonal shot to give Colours the lead.
Orange stood at a disadvantage as they had to rely on a rush keeper but Aurian surprised everyone making crucial saves showing great agility and positioning. Also he was helped by some impeccable defending like from Matej that at some point topped for a few minutes the online instant Man of the Match table.
All in it looked like a balanced game mostly courtesy of Alex who twice recovered the Colours’ advantage with a brilliant brace.
Then something happened: Giancarlo went in goal and his teammates decided to punish him beyond his own faults inflicting three own goals. The only time the Italian managed a save, the ball bounced on Federico and cruelly ended in the net. Gabriele took the dubious credit for the remaining brace and even got few points in the Man of the Match for an otherwise solid game and few key saves during his spell in goal.
Is 3 own goals in a match a record? Well the official negative accolade is 149 during a match in Madagascar but that was intentional to protest against previous referees decision.
In 1961 in a game against Milan, Catania lost 5-0 and conceded unintentionally 4 own goals which is still a record. When it comes to the most prolific own goals single scorer, the owner is Belgian Stan van den Buys who scored a reverse hat trick in 1995. Ever since fans carry this banner :’ Stan is our own-goal man!’ So history was not made today but Orange tried hard!
Such a one-two-three would have killed anyone and more salt was put in the wound by Colours with goals by Victor again, Gillian, Yuv and Giacomo.
Besides, Colours’ defence with the axis Paride- Hannes-Johannes was impenetrable and the only chance to restore pride, not the score at 8-2, for the Orange was the golden goal.
But Colours today were in no charitable mood and rather piled further on Orange misery when Gillian left his left back position to unleash a powerful and purposeful shot who no one could do anything against other than watch it hit the net. Perversely it was saluted by everyone included the Orange who were happy to end a bad day in the office.
The only consolation was that the score, adjusted for the own goals, would have been a tight 6-5 for the Colours who found it easier to let the Orange do the job for them.
Gillian was already in a podium position for the MOTM award and his outstanding golden goal propelled him to the top by a margin. A well deserved recognition considering that statistically is a lot less easy for defenders to bring home such trophies.
The game was graced by few comeback Kids like Giacomo, Yuv, Gabriele and Ulrico who lit the game. Inevitably we had a Rookie in Taj a young French sporting a PSG shirt: in a week he went from a 5-0 v Inter and a 2-9 v Colours: you win some, you lose some.
I don’t know you but to me it feels like a privilege to be surrounded by so many young, talented players even if that comes at the cost of hardly touching the ball…
