Devastating Alex not enough for Colours, as Bibs prevail 10-8

Back after a long absence, Alex stole the show in yesterday's match.

The young Italian put up a devastating performance, scoring with power and precision from different angles, and appearing unstoppable at times. Some of his goals were brutal, others were exquisite. In at least one occasion, the opponents were seen clapping hands to congratulate him.

Alex's Colours team had two other advantages: they played with an extra man for part of the match, and could field the only professional goalkeeper with Alessandro.

Still, all that was not enough to prevail on an incredibly pragmatic Bibbed team, who won 10-8.

The driving force of the Bibs was once again father-son couple Hannes/Johannes. The senior defended the goal as if its life depended on it, while the junior relentlessly drove the attack, supported by Thomas, Bijan and Ishan.

Bibs managed to stay ahead the entire match, and acted smartly during a transfer window that opened mid match when new players arrived. With Nizar joining the Colours, Bibs sealed a deal to swap rookie Davide in exchange for Francesco, who repaid them with a couple of goals.

Back after some time, Nizar appeared changed as a player. More midfield orchestrator than forward. We will see if this is a temporary change or a true rebirth.

Nizar and Davide added flair to the Colours' play. They attacked franticly seeking a possible remuntada. The Bibs were quick to retaliate with furious counterattacks managing to keep a one goal lead as the match entered into Golden Goal zone.

With both teams exhausted, Alex still had energy to chase the ball and got himself the chance to score it, but the ball went over the bar.

When that happened, it was clear that the Gods of Football had decided differently, and no one was surprised when Johannes scored the Golden Goal, sealing a well deserved victory of the Bibs for 10-8.
