Fastest ever goal in Football Dads history

The sound waves of the kick off whistle had hardly gone off Kensington Gardens that the ball hit the net. The chronometer only had time to record 9.7’’ and the data team confirmed this was by a margin the fastest goal scored in FDs history.
The Colours’ fans in the stands found themselves hugging each other even before they had time to acknowledge their presence in the weekly gathering for the customary guaranteed adrenaline filling.
The Colours won the toss up for the kick off and Arman with the game first touch passed a quick ball to Diego who danced his way towards the Orange box and unleashed a lethal diagonal shot which ended its run in the opposite low corner of the net. The keeper perversely had a relieved expression on his face as if telling himself:’ no one will ever blame me for non stopping that one!’.
Faced with a shocking start and an uphill struggle the Orange put up a brave face and dug deep to find the mental strength and the physical energy not to capitulate so early in the game. You only had to look at the line-up to know that defeat, let alone capitulation, was not a word contemplated in the Orange vocabulary.
While Diego was unrestrained and went on to score a hat trick in rapid succession, the good thing about Colours was that quite a few of them were in a scoring mode so that opposition had many open fronts to deal with at the same time. Johannes on a hat trick was par for the course but his fine form was complemented by a brace scored by Richard: his first with a thunderous shot from the distance just under the bar was just sensational.
Ziad and Jonathan added to the tally with also Hannes converting a pinpointed corner by Giancarlo with an imperious header. Hummels in the stands duly noted ahead of his CL final in Wembley.
The Colours were not ready though to give in as yet: the Castelli put a show with Giancarlo trying his luck with a long distance lob parried away by the keeper only for Marco to rush in with winning volley.
At 7-5 the gap could have been filled but not in the few minutes left before the golden goal which Johannes sealed for the umpteenth time giving the Orange a comprehensive deserved yet hardly fought win.
Diego would have grabbed the Man of the Match award, had he been on the winning side. Richard had an excellent game to also lay claims for the accolade but Johannes was the undisputed ‘the winner takes it all’ including the hat trick ball.
This was the last game before the ‘do or die’ Master Game 10’. The ability to cope with the tension from now to then will be a decisive factor for a match which will define every single player career going forward. No pressure.
