Fired up Dads and the 59th Nation

Received wisdom is that athletes suffer with age and injuries. This is just another universal law that does not apply to FDs.
Back from a double hip operation Jeremy G today served the doubters first with an assist to Yassin for the opening goal and then scored himself with a header knowing beforehand where the ball would have landed.
This vindicates the Club policy never to take profits on FDs regardless as that equates to future lost profits and, just like fine wine and spirits, by ageing them the Net Asset Value of the Club keeps increasing. Another tale straight into the Dads’s Granchildren book.
Back from Cobham wonderland and the MG7, Dads were eager to prove themselves and the fans that the defeat was behind them with a convincing victory. It was most likely the most crowded game in FDs history with 27 players.
The Bibbed were grouped around the Kids with two new entries, Giovanni and Andy from Albania (on the right in the top picture) which brings to the Club the 58 Nation. Alessandro in goal and Giancarlo also joined to balance the team, one way or another.
The Dads were Unbibbed with the usual household names plus Paride in goal and the return of Chris F. Hannes was welcomed back by the fans with an enormous banner stating: ‘Make no mistake: there is only one Hannes!’
Dads looked to have a multiple of the energies of the Kids and subjected their defence to an unbearable pressure until Yassin finalised a brace follower by Jeremy header. Yassin this time was not denied an hat trick and fixed the game at 4-0 for the Dads/Unbibbed.
At this point Giancarlo after heading a high ball hit the ground with the head and literally saw the stars. He claimed he was fine but first confused Sara with Diego and then screamed at the Ref, who was never there, asking for a midfield penalty….He was kindly invited to the sidelines and left the game for good but we hear he is just fine.
When a FD gets seriously injured a couple of things happen automatically: bookmakers stop taking bets against the team he was playing for and the CLUB refuses to disclose the name of the insurance to avoid short selling first thing on the Monday.
The Kids actually showed character and Johannes gave them a bit of hope scoring their first goal but the glimpse of a remuntada was short lived as Khaled Alg fixed the score at 5-1. Kids deserved a chance to leave the pitch with the chin up and they took it when Giacomo for the second consecutive game score the golden goal.
Yassin yet again was the star of the show and this time led his team to a victory that at the beginning was not so obvious. Interestingly voters placed him only second as they opted to reward Francesco who today operated wisely as a ‘Falso Nueve’ excelling in fine distribution including a sublime back heel assist.
This is music to the ears of Mancini: perhaps not coincidentally Francesco for tonight’s match Italy v Austria was allocated a seat close to the Azzurri’s bench… just in case.
