Forward looking Dads

If you receive a letter from the Design Museum careful not to throw it away as another junk mail. These are the kind of letters only very few special players will ever receive. They will ask you to donate your old football shoes once you hang them up, arguably not before a few decades. They will be right next to those of George Best, Pele’ and Zidane as you can see in the pics below.
For good measure we have also taken some pics of some FDs ones (top photo) and you can already easily tell that they stand the comparison. There are not shoes too big to fill for FDs as every discerning football critic would be ready to admit.
Today’s formations were made by an algorithm with a human touch: FDs still scarred by the MG9 were mixed with Kids so that at least some Dads would emerge victorious hopefully leaving behind the psychological burden of such an ignominious defeat.
Victories are pleasant but can bring complacency especially against teams with an aurea of invincibility. Defeats are painful but can bring a thirst for vendetta which will drive your brain and muscle to do whatever it takes to take victory back home. Fans showed a mixed of affection and respect not for what Dads have achieved but what they no doubt will. A faith of the mind as much as of the heart.
The game was well balanced at the start until Christian joined the Blues providing them with the extra man. Hannes was back at the centre of the Whites defence commanding operations with his customary no-nonsense approach leaving fans to think what could have happened with him at the MG8.
Yet today the Whites back line had a tough client to contend with: Francesco in fact was in top form and simply was able not only to convert anything thrown at him but also to assist both voluntarily and involuntarily a couple of goals. The Ragnis produced also some show business when Francesco nutmegged an opponent in midfield and met his son Alessandro with a mid air ball which he tamed with a flying back heel taekwondo style Ibrahimovich would have been proud of.
Other that being a man up the Whites had in Johannes another extra man as he was travelling back and forth, coast to coast every minutes. There are suggestions that the new North-South train project, if and when, will be named the Johannes line.
No wonder the result took soon a direction the Whites would not be able to revert: the hat trick by Francesco followed by individual goals by Julien, Johannes and Alessandro was countered by Giacomo twice and Ben but was not enough. Al produced some great saves as did Alessandro to settle the score at 6-3 for the Blues who also took the golden goal with Christian.
As for the Man of the Match award there two obvious candidates: Francesco who also won the last two consecutive awards pre MG8 and Johannes who is not clear if still capped ytd. But in an unprecedented collective move voters decided to reward every single FD on the pitch as to support push them to the new challenge ahead.
