German pair takes it all

Spring announced itself ahead of schedule today with a bright sun and a fresh air that made the game a pleasant experience.
Since FDs graced the beautiful game, it is accepted, even by scientists, that seasons tend to jump the gun in order to watch FDs in action as early as they can. This phenomenon gives credence to the saying that today’s seasons are not as they used to be…
The warm sun and the relaxed atmosphere did not make the game less belligerent than usual: players with no bruises and cuts almost felt ashamed in being singled out by the crowd always smelling blood and demanding the ultimate sacrifice by every single player no matter what.
Some of the early tactical decisions had a strong influence on the game. The Colours opted to play without any striker: considering they had none the choice looked as brave as it looked obvious. Without a reference point the Orange defence looked vulnerable to the incursions of the two Colours coast to coast players, Johannes on the left and Julian on the right with Giancarlo offering assistance in the middle.
Alessandro was always going to have a busy day and he managed to keep his goal inviolate for the best part of the first fraction. Then Julian could not be denied anymore and broke the deadlock with a fine goal doubled up by Johannes.
The Orange badly needed a piece of magic to be back in the game as the Colours looked dominant in most parts of the pitch. The magician took the shape of Christian: Ben sent a fast mid-air ball just on the edge of the Colours’ box. Not even Baggio would have dared a volley but Christian did, sending the ball in the bottom corner will the defence petrified giving the keeper no chance whatsoever.
Nothing like beauty can rejuvenate and multiply energies: it was a new game even more so when Hannes literally handed the Orange a penalty. Marco stepped up making a statement that he was coming of age: his shot was strong and full of purpose but went just above the bar into the pond with ducks ? flying for their lives.
From then on Colours restored the status quo with the German pair dictating the law and exacting it with a brace for Johannes (with one amazing diy goal) and a hat-trick for Julian, simply unstoppable.
At 5-1 the Orange asked for mercy in the form of the golden goal but unfortunately for them it was more of the same misery as ruthless Julian inflicted the ultimate pain sealing the game at a emphatic 6-1.
The decision to hand Julian the Man of the Match trophy even before the online votes were fully received only looked natural and void of any debate as fans chanted ‘Julian Uber alles’.
Orange looked dejected but it is often at the end of days like these that the seeds of revenge are slowly but steadily spread among the battered squad with their iron will just longing for another Saturday.
