Goals galore

As it happens sometimes in the midst of summer, Saturday’s great external conditions were not met by equally great numbers, but anyone who opted instead for a holiday in the Mediterranean or elsewhere, would have enjoyed a lively game of three aside, with a final score of 15:14.
It was decided to pitch the three German nationals (who did not make it to the Mediterranean) against a world selection including Hossam, Federico, and talented rookie Luis from Cyprus. The game was balanced and competitive throughout. Despite the low numbers, many beautiful goals were crafted by both sides, and everyone got on the score sheet.
After this good workout, we took a round of penalties. Some excellent penalties were taken by all, with very few misses, and again it was a close affair. In the end, Luis and Hannes tied. While Hannes – unlike Luis – had missed one penalty, he uniquely saved two which got him into the final showdown. The duel seemed decided after Hannes’ opening penalty narrowly missed the top right hand corner, but he nevertheless clinched the winner by saving Luis’ penalty.
All in all, a fun morning, and an excellent preparation for the forthcoming MG challenge.
Team Germany: Thomas (5), Hannes (7), Johannes (3)
Team World: Hossam (5), Federico (5), Luis (4)
