Moral suasion

Since last Saturday first post-Covid game it has been widely and wildly speculated than FDs have been granted a permission to play regardless
the format. It is not uncommon, but hardly frequent, that the Palace uses moral suasion towards the authorities, in this case police and government, to steer events of utmost interest in their best direction, that is within eyesight on any given Saturday morning.
Today 14 FDs duly obliged and rewarded such Royal passion with a show that combined grace and pace.
The match was undisturbed as no police was seen unlike last week where, to be fair, the patrol seemed to be more interested in snatching glimpses of one touch football than actually interfering with it.
There was as well a juvenile impetus provided by the kids quartet with Andrea, Marcello, Sara and Nima who showed both individual skills as well as team moves.
The Bibbed meant business from the first touch and took opposition by surprise with a double hit, courtesy Ben and Diego. Providence for the Unbibbed took the shape of Khaled who, few minutes into the game, was recruited for an undisclosed sum. Whatever it was, they were money well spent as the striker went on to score an hat trick and turn the game around. The Bibbed countered by breaking the bank and took in their rank a young Messi by the name of Nima who excelled throughout the game giving hard time to the senior Dads. It was a nail biting game which could have gone either way any time, much to the despair and excitement of bookmakers who sensed the make or break opportunity.
Giancarlo managed to hit the goal to settle the score at 4-2 for the Unbibbed. At which point there was time only for the golden which the Bibbed grabbed at the first available opportunity with Diego.
It was somehow a fitting finale for a pulsating game which both teams deserved to win, having put everything in it and delighted the countless numbers of online fans and the few in the park hidden on the trees or in the bushes.
The Man of the Match award went to the youngest player as Nima proved he has everything it takes to leave a mark on the game and we hope to see him more often. Worth mentioning Marcello who was back after a long while: his game has evolved massively and he can play across the whole pitch playing with authority and maturity
Today every player contributed to a majestic show which was rewarded at the end of the match by a homemade Focaccia Genovese (see pic) as an appetiser before a well deserved lunch
