Storming kids

Eunice likes football and is addicted to Football Dads, you can tell. She granted today a window between the sun at 10am and the windy rain at 12pm as to state that only FDs could distract her from her stormy work, just about.
Perhaps She was hoping for a proper celebration. In fact Eunice in Greek means ‘good victory’ but today none of the teams could claim it, as the game went to the wire and the golden goal sealed a dramatic draw in a fight that was for a long time quite unbalanced.
The Kids were well represented with Johannes, rookie Tom , Al, Sara, Adam and George. You can tell a Club is big when too many people share the same name: Tom or Thomas is shared by three people: our very Paul Breitner aus Munchen and young Tom from the same family while today we had rookie Tom, Johannes’ friend, who had an excellent game. The writer has obtained permission to name him Tom Oscar for use of reference.
The game by the Palace started with the Orange playing downhill, a key factor as we’ll see later.
Kids showed exuberance right from the start: Adam had a tool kit box full of tricks including ‘no look’ passes. Giancarlo had to sweat the proverbial seven shirts ? to try and stop him.’It was easier to deal with penguins and seals, even whales‘ quipped the veteran in the post-match interview.
With his partner in crime George, Adam inflicted recurring pain for which the Colours had no antidote ending up to score five goals between the two of them with Adam taking the ball home by virtue of a hat trick.
The game looked so unbalanced that at 4-1 and the 6-2 for the Orange Hossam kindly offered a rebalancing act. Defiantly the Colours, hit in their pride, in the person of Johannes claimed that the only difference was the fact that Orange had an unfair advantage by playing downhill.
It would take some of the best psychologists to understand what went through the Colours players mind but the fact was then that they started to play with new aggression and a sense of urgency never shown on the first half. The clock was their worse enemy as midday was approaching and it could have meant their recovery falling short as Danny, Johannes and Francesco reduced the gap.
At 7-6 there was time only for the golden goal with Danny sealing a glorious remuntada and showing a fine understanding especially with Giancarlo exchanging assists and goals as they were biscuits at a tea party.
The Men of the Match were the Kids, that were a pleasure to watch as they could not be caught.
There was a time when Kids were dispatched to the stronger team to rebalance the game: now Dads fear is the other way around!
This does not bode well for the next Master Game: Dads have to come up with something creative before it. Suggestions welcome!
