Such is football.

The dramatic final score would point the finger to the CLUB algorithms choosing automatically the best teams for the game. How could this happen? A seven goals gap is hardly explainable. The data feed is both wide and deep as no money have been spared in its build up. If you think FB, Twitter, Instagram, Alexa and the likes know all about you, well the CLUB big brother is a lot more intrusive and extensive, of course in the players’ best interest, and does not discriminate between past and future: in fact it has proven its actual and predictive reliability week in, week out. If you then looked at the Unbibbed line-up you could have been forgiven for thinking they would have hardly conceded defeat to any team.
Such is football! This is the simple answer. The beautiful games is also the most unpredictable one: thousand variables thrown in as ingredients can produce a menu not always reflective of the chef credentials.
It was paradoxically a balanced game for a long spell: Julien lead for the Bibbed was doubled up by Johannes soon after but that was by no mean game over as Roberto retaliated in no time and the Unbibbed put the opposite defence under constant pressure. Federico was the engine in midfield proving both assistance to the four pronged attack made by Roberto, Khaled, Marco and Francesco as well as testing the ever alert Paride with powerful and accurate shots from the distance. Perhaps such a heavily front-tilted team was a tactical hazard but the real issue for the Unbibbed was that the defence they had to face was built around the double H axis as Hossam and Hannes put up an impeccable performance that bodes well for Dads in the forthcoming MG6. It’s hard enough to go through a wall, with two in a row it is just mission impossible.
In front of them Ben was directing the traffic often to the wider left lane where Sara was leading countless counterattacks with fine and fast distribution for the front liners who were at times either profligate or denied by Tony L. Then the unthinkable happened: Giancarlo took a corner loudly and cheekily anticipating a high ball for the incoming aerial ability of Paride and instead opted for a viciously spinning curling shot that brushed the inside of the first post and ended its run in the net. Apparently all David Beckham has been doing this afternoon today is watching it again and again. Posh cannot provide at the moment a more intriguing occupation while Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are mocking him chanting ‘bend it like Giancarlo’… Luckily Harper Seven is out for the weekend.
At 3-1 the morale for the Unbibbed sank and Julien took advantage of it scoring a brace, making the most of his more advanced position on the pitch as defence and midfield were securely locked. Hossam, spotless in defence and clinical in attack, added a fourth and from then on the game was all about how much more punishment Johannes decided to inflict on the dejected Unbibbed scoring a total of four for the day including the golden goal with a missile-shot which would have eradicated the goal, had the CLUB not provided a timely new set of pins to anchor the net to the ground. Tony L was never one to surrender without a fight throwing everything in the game but had to leave his position few goals before the end as he bravely scarified his wrist to stop one of the many Bibbed shots from close distance. We wish him, and his insurance company, a fast recovery.
The bad news for Johannes was that FIFA sent a letter confirming that he had reached and exceeded the ceiling for the Man of the Match award this term. A reset will be warranted as some stage.
Giancarlo was quick to snatch the trophy with both hands by virtue not only of the unreal corner-goal but of the serial assists, three of which were converted. Is he the best ever in passing the ball? It would not be fair for the commentator to answer the question but surely this is not one to divide opinions.
‘I wouldn’t argue with that’ was the swift yet unequivocal answer posted by Kevin de Bruyne, the top assist man in the Premier League. Ipse dixit.
