Summer shootouts

With some in the FD community blessed by seemingly endless holiday budgets, the mid Summer attendance, including this Saturday, sometimes does not adequately reflect the quality of the conditions – which were again excellent.
On Saturday, six of those stranded Londoners convened, assembled the goals, and had a lot of fun.
The first hour was spent in a relentless three aside, with a German contingent (Thomas, Johannes, Hannes) facing an international selection of Dan, Ishand, and Andrea. After some intense end-to-end play, the Germans ultimately prevailed, not least to the relentless accuracy of Thomas’ right foot. Here you can see the skills of this former tennis champion – he’s just simply acing it.
At a final score of 10:6 it was decided to do move on to some penalty practice, with rotating goalkeepers.
This proved to be jolly good fun, especially with our lovely new goals, and so we did two rounds. The rules gave one point to a converted penalty, one point to a saved penalty, and zero points to a penalty that failed to hit the goals.
The conversion ratio was 3-4/5 on average. The first round was won by Thomas with 7 points, the second by Johannes with 6.
