The Power Of Three

Three is the perfect number, they say.
So when youngsters Giacomo, Yuv and Harry, who play in their school team together, all joined the Colours team, it was reasonable to expect some good chemistry from them, but no one was prepared to see a near-perfect level of co-playing, as they showed an almost telepathic understanding.
Harry in the back, Yuv covering midfield and the left wings, and Giacomo upfront, played so effectively that pundits were ready to make comparison with the Dutch trio of Rijkaard, Gullit and Van Basten that made the fortunes of AC Milan back in the days.
After less than 10 minutes Giacomo had found the net three times, shooting with both feet and with a header. More goals were scored by his teammates, despite Paride’s effort, bringing the score to 5-0, and later to 6-1.
After a side switch did little to reverse the situation, the Oranges realised there was only one thing they could try to get back in the game, and it was to break the trio by poaching one of them. The package offered to Yuv was not disclosed but it was clearly convincing, as the player took less then 3 seconds to say hello to his team and wear the Orange bib.
Without their friend, Giacomo and Harry continue to play well but somehow lost sparkle, while the rejuvenated Orange were finally playing with purpose and scoring with ease. Within 40 minutes they had completed their remuntada and sealed the victory with a spectacular Golden Goal.
Still amazed by their achievement, the Orange team posed for a celebratory picture that included also Chetan’s son, while the Man of the Match Award was awarded to Yuv (who else?).
