Yassin v Niz-hit-hard: a clash of Titans

You might have seen recently that when Messi was subbed because of injury in the first half of an Inter Miami home match, most of the fans walked out as if the party was over without the Argentinian. Today when the formations were announced without Francesco in them few fans were tempted to head back home but then deep down each and everyone of our supporters know that each performance of each and everyone of the FDs is worth alone a multiple of the quite expensive ticket.
Besides, each season ticket comes with few perks attached: for example if you need a mortgage you go to whichever bank, show the ‘abbonamento’ with the pic of the FDs squad and that’s all you need to do and before you hit home the money have hit your account. No wonder our franchise keeps growing exponentially without boundaries.
Today’s game was reserved to a dozen players only but again it was the absents who missed out. The pitch and the weather were there to create the right atmosphere for a great match: and great it was.
By a first look at the two teams it looked like the algos had a late night as Yassin, arguably the 🐐 goat, wore the orange bib together with two of the strongest defenders to have ever graced a football pitch: no prize in guessing Hossam and Hannes names. Last not least they were complemented by accomplished players like Thomas, Sara and Andrea aka Puskas.
The task to face such a massive team fell heavily on the shoulders of Colours: Vincenzo in goal, Andre’ and Julien in defence, Bijan and Giancarlo in midfield with Nizard as a lone striker. A cohesive and experienced team, yet conscious of the uphill struggle facing them.
In fact from the very first touch it become clear that Yassin was simply unstoppable playing vertical football with breathtaking accelerations with opponents not even left with the option to foul him as he was too fast for that. On top of that he was well assisted on his left by Sarah who could play at ease long and short balls.
With such a firing power and their defence locked up, Orange team took a very comfortable lead at 5-1 at which point the algos, now more sober, suggested a switch with Giancarlo and Hossam swapping side. That worked for a while with Nizard raising to the occasion and making the most from his deadly right foot with strong, accurate shots from the distance. Delighted by such an impressive performance the Colours’ fans on the stands started to chant his new nickname: Niz-hit-hard.
The massive effort by the Colours nevertheless took its toll and gave time to the Orange to recharge: after Yassin bonanza Giancarlo, on a sweet pass from Allan Lahm aka Thomas, Andrea P and rookie Ahmad from Saudi Arabia also contributed to round the score to 11-7 for the Orange.
Giancarlo made good on his promise to score one for Francesco and is now a regular on the score sheet with his third consecutive appearance. Colours’ felt hard done by such a result and made sure in little time that the golden goal was going only one way with Julien giving the Orange keeper no chance with a thundering diagonal shot.
Hardly a Man of the Match award has been less contended with Yassin grabbing the trophy while ‘the winner takes it all’ was playing in the background. Nizard was raking also whatever was left in terms of preferences as many fans deemed his performance outstanding given the circumstances and in any other match could have easily granted victory to his team.
