Year closes in style with the Magnificent Six

For the very last time in 2019 two teams of outstanding quality clashed in style to celebrate what football is all about. Skill, composure and passion.
Albeit that the number of players just fell short of becoming another remake of the Magnificent Seven, the 3 a side match quickly turned out to go down as a thrilling shoot out to inspire further movies to come.
The excitement already started when the honour of selecting the teams was granted to the council of elders, Filippo and Thomas. After some confusion about age and intense mathematical exercises Thomas chose Yassin and Mohamed, whereas Filippo was joined by Jamal and Tarek. What followed was a demonstration of one-touch football, breathtaking dribblings and relentless defensive effort.
However, when after an 8:1 lead it became obvious that the Yassin/Mohamed duet was as strong as Sadio Mane and Mo Salah on a glorious day, the council decided to split them up. Mohamed joined Tarek and Yamal, Filippo gave additional strength to the other side and finished with a backheel goal bringing back memories of Rabah Madjer in 1987.
In the end it was one of these days when every human being realises that one cannot stop the tide from coming in, which today was Yassin. He scored six goals in total, as many as the runner-up Mohamed, but the man of the match award had to go to him as the winner of both encounters, with 4:1 as the second match result.
See you all in the new year.
